Our Erasmus+ team organized school's environmental cleaning and landscaping to celebrate The Earth Day.
At the same time, the "Green Cleaninig" action was carried out in Koprivnica and although we first wanted to join other citizens in cleaning the previously announced locations, that day we decided to clean up in our "back yard" instead.
As a preparation for action, we brought working gloves and good will with us, and all the other tools (picks, racks, garden trolleys, brooms, shovels, ...) were provided by our school.
Some of us donated bushes for planting. The rest of the plants were funded by our school, so that we could, in addition to cleaning, restructure the vegetation around our school and thus mark the Day of Planet Earth.
The gathering of participants started around 9 am at our school. The weather served us - the day was dry, a little cloudy, but not hot - the ideal conditions for work outdoors. The school principal, the teachers and the school environmental worker gave us instructions and divided us into groups, after which we rolled up our sleeves and the job could begin.
One team was in charge of collecting waste around the school, while the other team was in charge of planting young plants. After only a few hours of work, the school environment was visibly cleaner and more beautiful, and we were extremely pleased with the achievements.
On that day, we took the opportunity to submit a request to the principal on behalf of our team in witch we asked her to buy waste recycling bins so we can separate the waste at the time we spend in our classrooms.
